
This is the first step
to your fun and adventures to the underwater world.
In this course you will learn about basic diving theories,
and scuba diving skills. Upon completion of the course,
you will be awarded the PADI Open Water Diver certification,
a certification recognized worldwide.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
The course is conducted over a period of 6
days, divided into the following segments:
THEORY
DEVELOPMENT
In this segment, a diver will learn about basic
scuba diving theory, conducted over 2 evenings of 3
hours each. This segment consists of 5 modules of scuba
diving theory, covering the followings:
- Introduction to the underwater world
- Adapting to the underwater world
- The diving environment
- Health of diving and the recreational Dive Table (RDP)
- RDP continuation and basic compass navigation
- Theory sessions are held on
Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 to 10.30pm
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
In this segment, a diver will be guided through
a series of diving skills. These skills are divided
into 5 modules, and will be conducted over 1 Sunday,
a 5 hour session in the swimming pool. The ratio of
instructors to student will not exceed 1 : 6. This will
ensure close attention and care being given to divers
by our instructors and divemasters.
Pool
sessions are held on Sunday from 9am to 3pm
OPEN SEA SESSIONS
In this segment, a diver will be doing his/
her actual sea dives. There will be a total of 4 open
sea dives, and 1 bonus dive (total of 5 dives) , conducted
over 2 weekend days. This is the final segment of the
course, and a diver will be required to prove their
competence and apply what they have learnt from the
course.
Guided dives to the underwater
corals will be conducted at the end of each dive, so
divers can explore the wonders and appreciate the beauty
of the undersea. Open
sea dives are conducted over one weekend, on Saturday,
and also Sunday, in the sea, to ensure competence of
the diver to dive in an open sea environment.
